About Me:

Hello! My name is Barbie Jones, and I am Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of Ohio. I received my master’s degree in counseling and art therapy from Ursuline College. I have had training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Art Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I have experience working with adults and group counseling, but my passion is helping children and adolescents using individual therapy. I have experience providing services in inpatient, outpatient, schools, and community settings.

I chose to create Climb Mountains Counseling so I could expand my ability to support children, teens, and their families to navigate some of life’s most important and challenging times in their lives. I have always had a passion for working with young people and helping them to grow into the best version of themselves.

I wanted to create a space specifically for children and teens where they can feel safe, understood, and comfortable being themselves. Young people face so many unique challenges and they deserve a place where they feel heard without judgement and supported with compassion. I strive to provide individualized, creative, and deep care for all of my clients. Everyone’s story is different and I believe that therapy should reflect that. My goal is to help children and teens strengthen emotional resilience, build confidence, develop healthy coping strategies, and better understand themselves and their relationships with others.

I believe that working collaboratively with those who care for the client is extremely important. By working together as a team, we can all help children and teens navigate challenges and move toward growth and healing.

You are stronger than the mountain in front of you.
